Sevenoaks show strength at National Arena Swimming League final in Cardiff

Arena League B Final Saturday 21st April

Sevenoaks Swimming Club competed on Saturday 21st April in the prestigious Arena League B Final, comprising the second 10 of the top 20 swimming clubs in England.

The teams included the following swimmers:

In the female category:-

Izabella Okaro, Emily Brown, Eva Okaro, Jessica Harmer and Millie Armstrong, Millie Childs, Lilie Chambers, Daisy Widdowson, Imogen Stoddart and Elspeth Watson, Ellie Vowell, Zoe Naylor-Perrott, Maddy Glen, Emma Evans-Wilson and Amy Farthing.

In the male category:-

Albert Whitlock, Macaulay Johnston, Joe Box, William Jarrett, Ben Strebel, Jacob Hudson, Euan Terry, Zac Raymond, Louis Hayes, Ethan Hunter, Ellis Stanhope, Olly Coote, Oscar Wilson, Aiden McMillan, Chris Lee, Henry Choong, Chris Cheng and Joe Choong

The performances were outstanding with Sevenoaks Swimming Club finishing 5th overall on the day.

A new first for the club was to break 3 of the Arena League Records in the following events:

  • Girls 12 & Under Age Group 4 x 50 mtr Freestyle Relay comprising of Jessica Harmer, Emily Brown, Izzy Okaro and Eva Okaro.
  • Girls 12 & Under Age Group 4 x 50 mtr Medley Relay comprising of Millie Armstrong, Emily Brown, and Eva Okaro, Izabella Okaro.
  • Girls 12 & Under Age Group 50 mtr Individual Freestyle by Eva Okaro in 27.92 taking the record set in 2008.  An absolutely stunning swim from a very talented young swimmer.

 

First places also went to ….

  • Boys 13/u 4 x 50 Freestyle Relay  of Louis Hayes, Euan Terry, Ben Strebel, Zac Raymond
  • Boys 13/u 4 x 50 Medley Relay of Louis Hayes, Jacob Hudson, Ben Strebel, Zac Raymond
  • Eva Okaro in 50 butterfly only 0.20 off the record for this event also!

There were also fabulous 2nd place swims from Millie Armstrong in 50 back, Emily Brown in 50 breast, Louis Hayes in 100 fly all great swims at this very high level of competition.

We were delighted to welcome back our University swimmers Henry Choong, Chris Cheng and pentathlon Olympian Joe Choong always lovely to see them back in the fold!

Congratulations to all of our swimmers on a superb performance and a big thank you to the parents who came along to watch and support the Club. It truly was a successful and enjoyable day out for all.
