Following the continuing success of the Survive & Save lifesaving and survival courses, Sevenoaks Swimming Club is pleased to announce the dates of its Autumn/Winter 2017 course
You do not have to be a member of our Swimming Club to take part!
The awards provide invaluable lifesaving skills to last a lifetime, educating candidates in water safety and drowning prevention, aiming to help prevent the 500 + accidental drowning fatalities that occur in the UK each year.
The Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards cover:
- Self Rescue & Survival
- Rescue Skills
- Lifesaving Sport & Fitness
- Water Hazards
- Life Support Skills
- First Aid
- Drowning Information
- Emergency Management
The awards develop key life skills including teamwork, leadership and citizenship, whilst contributing towards a healthy lifestyle. The qualifications are recognised for both D of E (Skill/Sport) + GCSE PE + they look impressive on University Personal Statements!
Minimum Age Limit: 12 (on day of exam)
Swimming Ability: 50m in 1 minute ~ Style unimportant
Duration of Course: 12 Weeks (or until ready!)
Dates to be confirmed (subject to candidate availability) but will include 12 from the following list:
- 1, 8, 15, 22 October
- 5, 12, 19, 26 November
- 3, 10, 17 December
- 14, 21, 29 January
Location: Walthamstow Hall School Swimming Pool, Sevenoaks
Time: 2pm to 4pm
Cost of Course: £150 (SSC Members) / £160 (Non Members)
